What is Coordinate Entry?
1. There are 3 main methods of Coordinate Entry to accurately draw lines, move, copy, etc. to achieve your desired drawing.
2. Coordinate Entry is the most accurate method to draw objects and is what will make you a true COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTER and DESIGNER. 3. Coordinate Entry works on the Cartesian Grid System. Usually the bottom left corner of the Monitor screen is the Absolute Coordinate of 0,0. |
What is Absolute Entry?
Absolute Entry is a method to tell the program exactly where you want to put the points based on its x,y coordinates on the grid.
Using the Absolute Coordinate Entry
- In AutoCAD 2018 you must change your DYNMODE to "0" to access the Absolute Coordinate Entry System
- Choose what you wish to draw (line, circle, rectangle, etc.) or modify (copy, move, rotate, etc.) and then type in the Absolute Coordinate you wish to go to. Below is an example of Absolute Coordinate Entry
