Paragraph Writing
In formal writing communications, there isn't really a set standard as to how many sentences we should be putting into one paragraph. As long as what you are writing within the paragraph stays on topic with your TOPIC SENTENCE.
A topic sentence is the first sentence in a paragraph that tells the reader what they are going to read about in the paragraph. All sentences afterwards in the same paragraph needs to correspond only about the topic set out in the first sentence.

Assignment:
Your job is to create a paragraph with a topic sentence that talks about a fruit. You may choose any fruit you would like as long as you have enough ideas to keep the paragraph going. Your paragraph must be 5 sentences long. (1 topic sentence and 4 supporting sentences) Please create this paragraph on your Google Docs and post it to your website afterwards.
Example:
Pineapples are grown in popular locations along the equator such as the Ivory Coast. Big companies such as Dole have factories along the equator that hires many people to package pineapples. In the Ivory Coast, the people do not get paid enough. They work between 8 to 10 hours each day and have different crews working. Some pick the pineapples off the trees while others make and place them into boxes.

There are many different ways for students to cite or acknowledge the use of someone else's work to create your own works such as a school essay. When you use someone's information you need to give them credit.
Before the invention of sites that can help auto-cite your sources into the proper format (Easybib), we follow a standard MLA website such as (OWL Purdue).
In today's class, please follow Mr. Chau on how to navigate through easybib's website to properly cite your sources and create your citations page.
Please note: A Citations page needs to have the title Works Cited bold and underlined centered at the top of the page as well as your citations need to be sorted in alphabetical order from the last name going down.
